We Congratulate Diane Martin on Her Retirement!

As she reflects on her time at Aronoff Rosen & Hunt, Office Manager Diane Martin has a lot of fond memories: enjoying close friendships, playing practical jokes, and meeting legends such as President George H.W. Bush and actress Elizabeth Taylor.

Joining the firm in 1970 as a receptionist, Diane worked diligently to earn a series of promotions to legal secretary, payroll administrator and office manager. In 1984, she began working for Senator Stanley J. Aronoff as his administrative assistant and the treasurer of his campaign committee.

Holding both jobs presented many challenges but exceptional opportunities as well. Diane worked with the Secret Service for a convention that Vice President Dan Quayle attended. She also met President Bush and Senators Bob Dole and John Warner, getting to chat with Senator Warner’s then-wife (Elizabeth Taylor) for five minutes.

While these were indeed big moments, she’s most proud of working her way up to office manager and the friendships she forged.

“I always looked forward to Mondays because we’re like a family. We played practical jokes on each other with Irv Rosen the champion prankster,” Diane says. “I loved getting to know the clients, and after working at the same place so long, I can remember everyone’s first day, except for Senator Aronoff.”

According to Senator Aronoff, Diane was the ultimate professional and a pleasure to work with. “I had absolute faith in Diane to handle a wide variety of details with professionalism, enthusiasm and grace. I appreciate her dedication to AR&H’s clients and staff, and I wish her a satisfying and enjoyable retirement.”

While Diane is still working for Senator Aronoff one day a week, Diane is now able to spend more time with her grandchildren – Gracie, Diana, Levi and Charlotte – even chaperoning Gracie on a class trip to Washington, D.C. this month. Other plans include helping her 95-year-old mother, doing photography and perhaps even taking art lessons.

All of us at AR&H thank Diane for her years of friendship and dedication to our firm. We wish her all the best!
